It is indicated that the funds were provided through the World Bank’s trust fund as part of the fourth additional financing for the Public Expenditure Support project to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine.
The purpose of the grant is to provide partial reimbursement of budget expenses, especially for pensions, social assistance (assistance for internally displaced persons), ensuring wages for employees of state bodies, employees of State Emergency Service and employees of higher educational institutions.
The Ministry of Finance emphasized that since the beginning of the mass invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukraine has already received $ 15.5 billion from the United States in the form of grants.
The project was implemented jointly with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA) for a total cost of 14.9 billion dollars and 1.4 billion euros. Sources are IBRD loans, IDA loans, multi-donor trust fund grants.
It will be recalled that this week the Cabinet of Ministers approved the attraction of a second grant from the United States in the amount of $2.5 billion.
A week ago, it was reported that the European Union transferred to Ukraine the second tranche of macro-financial assistance for 1.5 billion euros from a package totaling 18 billion euros.
