Malicious activities in cyberspace continue to pose an “extraordinary” threat, the White House insists.
US President Joe Biden extended for one year the state of emergency in the country, which was declared on April 1, 2015, in connection with cyber attacks in the country. A message about this was published on the White House website on March 29.
“These significant malicious activities using cyberspace continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the United States,” the American leader insisted.
Because of the potential threats, Biden extended until April 1, 2024 the state of emergency in the country, which was declared by Executive Order 13694.
Recall that in early March, the White House released a new US National Cybersecurity Strategy.
