A total of about 42,000 tons of seized ammonia from Russian companies was sold in five open auctions.
The National Agency for Tracing and Management of Assets (ARMA) received more than 254 million hryvnias from the sale of arrested ammonia of Russian origin in the amount of 9.7 thousand tons. It was reported on the department’s website on Wednesday, March 22.

In total, more than UAH 1.32 billion was received from the sale of five batches of Russian ammonia with a total volume of almost 42 thousand tons.
“It is worth noting that, after the approval of the government, the funds from the sold property were transferred to the purchase of military bonds. Now, thanks to the purchase of securities, more than 1.2 billion hryvnias have been transferred in the budget as a whole,” the report said.
ARMA added that in the case of selling ammonia, in addition to the price generated as a result of the auction, the buyer must also pay a fee to the electronic platform, compensation to the Odessa Port Plant for receipt, cooling, storage and shipping of raw materials, as well as VAT and customs payments.
“Consequently, the real value of the arrested ammonia for consumers is higher than the final sale price based on the auction results,” the agency concluded.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky put a condition for Russia, after which Ukraine could agree to the transit of Russian ammonia.
