The Mykolaiv region became the first region of Ukraine with large-scale demining of agricultural land.
In the Nikolaev region priority demining of agricultural land began. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on Saturday, March 18.
Significant forces from the engineering and sapper units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service were sent to the region, foreign operators were involved.
It was noted that the evaluation of the work in the Nikolaev region will help to optimize the process of demining agricultural land in other areas.
According to preliminary estimates, in nine regions of Ukraine (Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kiev, Nikolaev, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv and Cherkasy) more than 470,854 hectares of agricultural land require inspection and, if necessary, humanitarian demining.
Based on the results of a non-technical or technical survey, the area requiring humanitarian demining can be significantly reduced.
It is assumed that, first of all, survey and demining activities will be carried out in regions where the problem of contamination of territories is the most urgent, and the clearing of agricultural land is the most economically reasonable.
Remember that at this moment Ukraine is the most mined territory in the world. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said it would take up to 10 years to completely clean Ukrainian territories where hostilities are or have been.
As reported, a sowing campaign has begun in Ukraine – work is underway in 10 regions. In the past week, farmers sowed 66.6 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops, the leaders were agricultural producers of the Ternopil region with 20.4 thousand hectares.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs named the most desirable region of Ukraine
