Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, said that the Manhattan District Attorney would soon file charges against him and arrest him. According to him, this can happen on Tuesday, March 21.
Trump published the corresponding message on the Truth Social social network.
The leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America will be detained on Tuesday next week, he said.
In this regard, Trump called on his supporters to protest.
Come out to protest, take back our country! he called.
In addition, in his statement, Trump accused the Manhattan prosecutor’s office of being corrupt and politicized and assured that the charges against him were based on an old fairy tale, which they repeatedly tried to prove to no avail.
Trump also mentioned the well-known financier George Soros, accusing him of financing the prosecutor’s office.
Trump was recently called in for questioning by the New York City District Attorney’s Office in connection with the case of payments to ex-porn actress and stripper Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels.
According to The New Tork Times, Clifford and Trump allegedly had sexual contacts in 2006-2007, and at the height of the 2016 presidential campaign, which was won by Trump, the lawyer of the future US president paid the porn actress $130,000. for not disclosing this information.
It is believed that Trump’s accusation can be based on the following positions:
- because Trump’s company “falsely accounted” for monthly payments to Cohen as legal expenses;
- the charges could re-characterize the case as a violation of the New York state election laws – the prosecution could argue that the payment of the porn actress with an improper campaign fee was because it benefited the Trump campaign.
