Families from the north of the country, such as Tumbes, Piura and Lambaeque, who were left homeless due to heavy rains and floods will be able to access 500 Survivor Bonus or Emergency Housing Leasing (BAE)announced Chania Pérez de Cuellar, Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS).
Perez de Cuellar told RPP News that “this award consists of giving to families who have lost their homes either because they have been declared uninhabitable or have been completely destroyed, opportunity to have Bonus S/500 per month for two yearswhich will give them an opportunity in case they want to rent a house.”
“These bonuses are already included”, assured the minister of housing and communal services. In this sense, he commented that “the funds are there, but we need to make one more requirement to the Ministry of Economy (MEF) at the level influence, especially in the north, and we will see what happens in Lima”.
According to the minister, the municipalities are responsible for keeping the register of homeless people. He even added that the register will be updated.
