DTEK has completed the construction of the first stage of the Tiligulskaya wind farm with a capacity of 114 MW in the Mykolaiv region. This was reported by the press service of DTEK on Friday, March 10.
“19 wind turbines will start generating electricity to support the energy balance of Ukraine. The implementation of the project will make it possible to take the first step in the implementation of the 30 to 2030 initiative, the goal of which is to have 30 GW of -installed renewable energy capacity in Ukraine by 2030,” the report said.
According to the company, the total design capacity of this wind farm is 500 MW.
“Now we are looking for options for further implementation of the project, in particular, negotiations with international donors and partners,” DTEK specified.
In turn, Rinat Akhmetov, the owner of DTEK, commented on the launch of the new wind farm.
“In 2022, we had big plans for the construction of the new Tiligul wind farm. However, the Russian invasion temporarily suspended the project. Today I want to say that we have decided to continue the construction of the wind farm and in the coming weeks the first plant phase will operate at full capacity The war will not stop We continue to create jobs, pay taxes, mine coal, generate electricity, rebuild the grids, fight for our energy independence and invest in the future. We will win the war,” he said.
Recall that the 30 to 2030 project, which should be part of the recovery plan for Ukraine, was presented by DTEK in 2022 during the World Economic Forum in Davos, calling on European companies to join the renewable energy development project in Ukraine. Later, DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said his company would continue to invest in green energy.
