Ukrainian GTS operator saves 110 million cubic meters of gas

The operator of the gas transmission system of Ukraine in 2022 saved more than 110 million cubic meters of natural gas and almost 8 million kWh. electricity This was reported by the press service of OGTSU.

The head of the department for the use of fuel and energy resources, energy saving and ecology of the OGTSU project manager Nikita Slobodyan noted that this was achieved thanks to the implementation of the concept of improving energy efficiency and optimization of production and technological costs (HTV) of natural gas during transportation.

“As part of the company’s strategy, in 2022 OGTSU reduced the volume of VTV by more than 4.5 million cubic meters compared to the previous year,” he insisted.

It was noted that due to the introduction of energy saving measures and prevention of excessive consumption of natural gas in GTS facilities last year, OGTSU also saved more than 110 million cubic meters of natural gas and almost 8 million kWh. electricity

As a result of the implementation of projects on energy efficiency and minimizing the negative impact on the environment, as well as reducing the volume of gas transportation, in 2022 OGTSU reduced emissions of harmful substances into the environment by 402 tons (32.1% ), excluding natural gas losses due to the military invasion of Russia.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian and foreign traders began to deliver gas from European countries through Moldova with its subsequent injection into Ukrainian storage facilities.
