The company indicated that the ice cream contained cow’s milk, although it was not purchased, the Antimonopoly Committee notes.
On Friday, December 30, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) fined the LLC Khladoprom Ice Cream Factory (Kharkov) for distributing false information about the product composition in the ice cream packages he produced. This was reported by the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine on its official Facebook page on Friday, December 30.
The state regulator found that the specified manufacturer, which produces more than 27 types of ice cream under TM Khreschatyk, Chestnut, Hladik, Artek, Voloshkove Pole on ice cream packages indicate information about the presence of cow’s milk in its composition. However, it turned out that in September and November 2020, the company did not buy cow’s milk and did not use it in the production of plombir ice cream. Kholodoprom replaces drinking cow’s milk with another ingredient – skimmed milk powder.
“Drinking cow’s milk and powdered milk are not the same part, because these types of raw materials are produced according to different specifications. Accordingly, the information disseminated by the manufacturer about composition of his product is not true. According to the law, only those ingredients used in its manufacture,” AMCU stressed the reason for imposing the fine.
Placing on ice cream packages information about the presence of drinking cow’s milk in its composition, which was not actually used in its production in September and November 2020, misleads consumers.
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine identified the company as violating the law on protection against unfair competition and fined it UAH 1,370,433.
Recall, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine exposed collusion in five methods for obtaining services for the implementation of design and survey work during the construction of the Podolsk bridge across the Dnieper River in Kyiv.
