Russia fears that the Patriot systems the United States has promised to supply to Ukraine will change the course of the conflict while warning of unimaginable escalation with NATO, which it accuses of becoming increasingly involved in the conflict.
“We will take this into account and find an antidote,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday during a press speech at the Kremlin.
Successful visit to USA Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was caught changing his foot Russiawho could only respond with a trip to China by Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
Both countries have long chosen sides, but unlike USAthe maximum that China has reached is to conduct joint exercises with Russia and ask for “moderation” and “dialogue” from both Moscow and Kyiv.
Patriot against Russian missiles
“Provocative actions USA. will inevitably lead to an escalation with consequences that are hard to imagine. Thus, the discussion about the hypothetical deliveries of ATACMS missiles and long-range drones to Ukrainians is of deep concern,” Anatoly Antonov, Russian Ambassador to Washington and former Deputy Defense Minister (2011-16), warned today.
AT Russia US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s claims that the Patriots were capable of “shooting down cruise missiles” as well as “short-range ballistic missiles and aircraft at higher altitudes” than previously delivered anti-aircraft systems were extremely disturbing.
In other words, Patriots can shoot down Russian ground-based Iskander and Kalibr missiles launched in recent months from the Black and Caspian Seas to destroy Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
As with the HIMARS salvo launchers that allowed Kyiv to seize the initiative in the summer by striking behind enemy lines, the Patriots could thwart the Kremlin’s plans for 2023.
However, today Putin assured that the Patriot systems are “quite old” and do not work “as well” as the Russian S-300s.
“We will hack them. Whoever does it does it in vain. They just drag out the conflict. That’s all,” he said.
Some experts point out that the Patriots can defend a small city, residential area, or military base, but they can never defend a large city like Kyiv, on top of the fact that each missile costs about $4 million.
$100 billion weapons
Meanwhile, during a meeting with foreign military attachés, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov today accused the West of trying to “prolong” the conflict by supplying Kyiv with weapons worth “almost $100 billion.”
Russian general accused NATO of handing over Ukraine about 350 tanks, 1,800 armored vehicles, 700 artillery pieces, four aircraft, 30 helicopters, 5,300 grenade launchers and at least 5,000 drones.
In fact, Blinken clarified that the aid promised to Zelensky by the President USAJoe Biden, includes another $1 billion for air defense and precision weapons.
In total, since the arrival of the Patriots, the United States has helped Ukraine by about $21.9 billion since last February and stressed that it will continue to do so “as long as it is necessary.”
shy russian answer
Russia responded the day before with a timid reform of the Armed Forces, which the independent Russian press interpreted as an admission of the Kremlin’s mistakes in planning Ukraine.
The Russian army will have 1.5 million people instead of the current 1.1 million, but the most important thing is that half will be professional soldiers, while now they are no more than 20 percent.
In addition to the creation of two new divisions of the Airborne Forces, two groupings of troops were also formed in the North-West of Russia in response to the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov today expressed regret that at the meeting between Zelensky and Biden in Washington “there were no real calls for peace, not in front of a gallery, but real ones.”
Zelensky recalled that, despite the accumulated suffering, Ukrainians yearn for victory over Russia and that a “just peace” means the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory Ukraineafter which Moscow must compensate Kyiv for all the damage caused.

“Espacio Vital”: Emil Blonde Galvez, psychologist, noted that people feel fear, and this has a huge impact on a person. Although he pointed out that protest is a right, when it becomes violent, it affects people’s mental health, leaving a lot of anxiety and fear. The specialist said that adults have a lot of stress because of the insecurities they have about their jobs, about their belongings, about not getting anything in the midst of a stop and a protest. He added that this situation is very frustrating for people and hopes that everything will go better are dwindling.
