The White House now sees no signs that Russia will inevitably launch a second offensive against the Ukrainian capital.

So far, the United States sees no signs that Russia is preparing to launch a second offensive against Kyiv. John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, told reporters on Friday, December 16, Defense One reports.

At the same time, Kirby noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not intend to abandon his plans for Ukraine.

“We have not seen anything to indicate that Putin has abandoned his maximalist goals regarding Ukraine. We do not see any signs that there will be an inevitable move regarding Kyiv,” he said, adding that the US leadership is close watching what is happening.

As reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, in an interview with The Economist, said that the Russians are preparing about 200,000 new soldiers and there is no doubt that they will go again in Kyiv.

Remember, a day before the General Staff announced that they do not rule out the participation of Belarus in the war.
