The UN General Assembly adopted a Ukrainian resolution condemning Russian repression and human rights violations in occupied Crimea. This was discussed on Thursday, December 15, in the meeting broadcast.
It was determined that 82 countries supported the resolution, 80 abstained and 13 opposed.
The adopted document condemned the use of Crimea by the Russian Federation for the purpose of aggression against Ukraine and to support the attempted illegal annexation of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
The resolution condemned the incitement of hatred against Ukraine and Ukrainians and the spread of disinformation justifying Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
The General Assembly considers unacceptable a new wave of detentions in Crimea, forced migration to and from Crimea, forced disappearances, as well as the so-called filtering of displaced persons.
Earlier it was reported that the work “state council” of the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea adopted a “law” that provides for the free provision of plots of land to participants in the war against Ukraine.
