The United States sees no opportunity to change United Nations rules to exclude Russia from permanent membership of the organization’s Security Council. This was announced on Thursday, December 15, by White House Speaker Karine Jean-Pierre.
According to him, the Joe Biden administration does not see the possibility of changing the rules of international organizations and is therefore committed to continuing efforts to isolate Russia and international organizations and to hold Russia accountable, including through penalties.
“If there is a way to exclude Russia from the UN Security Council, we will immediately start it,” Jean-Pierre emphasized.
Recall that Ukraine in early December declared the illegitimacy of Russia’s membership in the UN.
