Italy will continue to supply arms to Ukraine

The Senate of the Italian Parliament approved a resolution to extend the supply of arms to Kyiv until 2023

The upper house of the Italian Parliament approved a resolution to extend the supply of arms to Ukraine until 2023. The meeting was broadcast live on the Senate’s website on December 13.

143 senators voted in favor of the joint resolution prepared by the ruling majority parties, 29 MPs voted against, one abstained.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, speaking before a Senate meeting, said that data on specific military aid to Kyiv from Rome would continue to be classified.

It will be recalled that on November 30, a document on the need to adopt regulations to extend until December 31, 2023 the permission to transfer military property, materials and equipment to the authorities of the Ukrainian government was approved by the Chamber of Deputies.

The next day, the Italian Council of Ministers adopted a special decree providing for the continuation of comprehensive, including military, assistance to Ukraine in 2023.
