The ruling regime of Belarus hopes to avoid sanctions for participating in the military aggression against Ukraine, believes Gitanas Nauseda.
The proposal of the ruling regime of Belarus to deliver Ukrainian grain to Lithuania is nothing more than a “trap”. This is an attempt to avoid sanctions for aiding Russia in its military aggression against Ukraine. This is what Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said on his official Twitter account on Saturday, October 10.
According to the Lithuanian head of state, Ukrainian grain is currently transported through Poland and other states to Baltic ports.
“Belarus’ proposal to bring Ukrainian grain through its territory to Lithuania is another attempt to avoid sanctions … This is a trap. Let’s not fall into it,” he concluded.
Athletistic wrote earlier that Belarus will allow, without preconditions, the transfer of Ukrainian grain through its territory for further export from Lithuanian ports.
However, the Belarusian side nevertheless put a “condition” in a conversation with UN representatives: the opportunity to export their own fertilizers.
