Since August 1, 533 ships left the ports of Big Odessa, exporting 13.3 million tons of food to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
As part of the Grain From Ukraine initiative, a ship with 25,000 tons of food wheat for Somalia left the port of Odessa. This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“Despite the war and Russian terrorist attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, Ukraine continues to share responsibility with the world in dealing with world hunger. These 25,000 tons are direct aid from the state of Ukraine. The delivery of humanitarian cargo is supported by the governments of Japan, France and Finland,” – said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development of Territories, Communities and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov.
The NEVA bulk carrier is the third vessel under the Grain From Ukraine program. On board the first two ships – 55,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat. These ships were sent to Ethiopia, whose population was on the brink of starvation. So, it will provide food for almost 200 thousand people a year.
It was noted that in total since August 1, 533 ships left the ports of Greater Odessa, which exported 13.3 million tons of Ukrainian food to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
It will be recalled that yesterday, December 8, three more ships with almost 80,000 tons of grain for Africa and Asia left Ukrainian ports within the framework of the “grain agreement”.
And on December 7, four more ships with 149.3 thousand tons of agricultural products left Odessa ports.
