Former President of the United States Bill Clinton said on Wednesday he had tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms and encouraged people to get vaccinated.
This is the latest threat to the health of the 76-year-old former president, who was briefly hospitalized last year and has had multiple surgeries since 2004.
“In general, I’m doing well, and I’m busy at home. I am grateful for the vaccination and revaccination that made my case easy and I encourage everyone to do the same, especially as the winter months approach.” Clinton tweeted.
Health problems
Former president (1993-2001) spent five nights in a hospital in California due to blood poisoning in October 2021. In 2004, at the age of 58, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery, and six years later, he had stents (intravenous prostheses) implanted in his coronary artery.
This prompted him to switch to a vegetarian diet and talk publicly about how changing his diet helped him become healthier.
