The process of granting UBD status will be monitored to prevent the emergence of fake veterans.
In Ukraine, from December 1, they will begin to formalize the status of a participant in the hostilities in the fight against the full aggression of Russia. This was announced on Tuesday, November 29, by Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov.
He noted that the Ministry of Defense has completed the preparation of the relevant regulatory framework.
“During the nine months of a full-scale war in Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of people appeared eligible for this status. Processing such a set of data will take time, but nothing will be forgotten or lost,” said Reznikov .
“There is no need to worry. The Department of Defense will work in synergy with other departments, especially our colleagues from the Department of Veterans,” he added.
In order to consider identification materials as combatants, 18 commissions will be created in the structure of the Ministry of Defense, they have already been formed and will start working approximately from December 1.
You can get UBD status:
-
at the request of the unit commander who centrally submits documents for subordinate military personnel;
-
at the personal request of a serviceman who independently collects documents and submits them to the appropriate commission;
-
at the personal request of the person discharged from military service, through the territorial recruitment and social support center.
“The process of granting UBD status will be controlled to prevent the emergence of fake veteran heroes who defend the “cauldrons” in the deep rear. This is, first of all, a matter of respect for the real heroes who defend in Ukraine, risking their lives, ” Reznikov emphasized.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on providing social guarantees for war veterans and families of fallen defenders of Ukraine.
