Sufficient gas has been stored in Ukrainian gas storage facilities to survive the winter, but attacks on critical infrastructure require additional resources to accumulate.
Ukraine now has enough reserves of gas, coal and fuel to get through the winter. This was announced on Tuesday, November 29, by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal at a government meeting.
The country enters the winter with 14 billion cubic meters of gas in storage and 1.3 million tons of coal in storage, he said.
“This resource is enough to withstand the winter continuously. This applies not only to gas and coal, but also to gasoline. With the increase in the import of diesel and gasoline generators, we understand that the demand for fuel may increase,” he said. .
Shmyhal said the government continues to communicate with fuel networks and closely monitors the balance of imports and consumption.
“In recent months, our imports have reached about 700,000 tons per month, and this allows us to meet the needs of consumers,” he said.
Remember, earlier Shmyhal said that the damage to NPC Ukrenergo due to Russian shelling is more than 70 billion hryvnia.
