Al-Qaeda’s branch in Yemen has called on Muslims around the world to boycott the World Cup in Qatar. The terrorist organization accuses the countries of the Persian Gulf “to work in the pay of the Crusaders to alienate the Muslims of the subcontinent from their Muslim faith“.

The group’s Yemen-based branch accuses Qatar of “a pornographic campaign against the Mohammedan peninsula“. He also criticized the host country for “It brought immoral people, homosexuals, sowers of corruption and atheism to the Arabian Peninsula.“.
However, no threats to carry out attacks or promote violence were announced in connection with the event, the monitoring group said in a statement.
In response to criticism of Qatar’s human rights record, including LGBT rights, World Cup organizers said the event welcomes everyone, regardless of sexual orientation and background.
As the opening ceremony of the World Cup took place on Sunday (Nov 21), Qatar said it had trained more than 50,000 people to provide security during the competition, with foreign forces under command assisting Qatar.
