The volcanic eruption will only get stronger. Scientists predict the outpouring of lava and the formation of mud flows.
In Russia, in Kamchatka, the eruption of two large volcanoes Klyuchevskaya Sopka and Shiveluch began simultaneously. This was reported by TASS.
Klyuchevskaya Sopka is the highest volcano on the mainland. Scientists say that the throwing of the “hot bomb” is currently ongoing.
“The ash cloud from the Klyuchevskiy volcano extends 60 km in the north and northeast direction. The plume from Shiveluch also extends 55 km in the north and northeast direction,” the experts said.
It is known that the Shiveluch volcano has thrown an ash column six kilometers high over the sea. This plume disappeared to the west and towards the Pacific Ocean.
Two volcanoes have been assigned an orange aviation hazard code.
It is also noted that the Shiveluch volcano is the northernmost active volcano in Russian Kamchatka. One of the largest was its eruption in 1964. At that time, the ash column reached a height of 15 kilometers, and fragments of volcanic rock were transported within 20 kilometers.
Russian scientists say the volcanic eruption will only intensify. They predict the outpouring of lava and the formation of mudflows that will flow through the rivers in the region of the volcanoes.
