Ukraine intends to open a temporary prosecutor’s office in one of the countries of the European Union as part of a strategy for international criminal prosecution and unification of evidence of war crimes committed by Russia. This was announced on Wednesday, November 23, on his Facebook page by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin.
He also said that the previous day, under the leadership of the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, was working on ways to create a special international tribunal for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
“We discussed in detail the legal mechanisms and the strengthening of cooperation with international partners. The issue of the Special Tribunal will be heard loudly on all international platforms,” said the Prosecutor General.
In particular, Kostin said, the Ukrainian side began the “creation of a Provisional Prosecutor’s Office to develop a strategy for criminal prosecution” and consolidate evidence of the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
“The office can work in one of the European cities with the support of our partners,” he added.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General said that massive attacks on civilian infrastructure will not prevent prosecutors from achieving results in the investigation of international crimes of the Russian Federation.
Recall that the office of the Prosecutor General recorded the death as a result of the entire invasion of the Russian Federation 8311 civilians, including 437 children, more than 11 thousand civilians were injured.
