On the air of the telethon, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba announced the work on a trilateral project of Ukraine, Cambodia and Japan to help demining Ukraine.
“To develop telephone conversations between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Gun Sen, the Cambodian leader personally received me this week in Phnom Penh. In our meeting, we discussed, in particular, demining assistance. a common tripartite project on demining Ukrainian territories with respect to Cambodia and Japan. We discussed the specific parameters of this project, who and what will do what on what schedule,” the minister said.
Kuleba added that he discussed this project in more detail in a meeting with the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Camobja Prak Sakhonn.
“Cambodia, at our request, initiated this project and is ready to help Ukraine in mine clearance, together with Japan. Back then, Cambodia suffered from war for a long time and has extensive experience in mine clearance. With expertise, there is equipment, we will include them in solving our problems,” the minister summed up.
It was previously reported that Cambodia will send two demining teams to Ukraine to help train Ukrainian demining specialists,
It will be recalled that Canada has promised new aid for mine clearance.
