Imports of goods needed during the heating season will be exempt from VAT and import duties. This should simplify the supply of generators, batteries, transformers and other similar equipment to Ukraine.
Deliveries to Ukraine of equipment for energy and heat supply should become simpler and cheaper due to the government’s decision to exempt them from VAT and import duties. This was announced on Tuesday, November 8, by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his video message to citizens.
“The government has made an important decision that will help pass the winter season. Imports of goods needed during the heating season will not be exempt from VAT and import duties. It should simplify and reduce the cost of supplies to Ukraine of generators, batteries , transformers and other similar equipment for energy – and heat supply,” Zelensky said.
According to him, it is also important that sufficient quantities of gas and coal are accumulated to provide for the Ukrainians.
“We clearly understand that turning winter into a weapon is the plan of a terrorist country against our state, as well as against the whole of Europe. But we are doing everything to thwart this plan of Russia, like various first,” Zelensky added. .
He mentioned that work is underway to restore normal life in the liberated areas. Repairs are ongoing at all energy facilities that suffered from recent Russian strikes.
The head of state thanked all power engineers, public utilities, regional administrations, local self-governance – all that return the predictability of life to people even in such conditions.
Recall that the United States will allocate $ 25 million to Ukraine for vulnerable parts of the population in the winter. Also in Germany, they said that the G7 will help Ukraine survive the winter.
