Children are very impressionable, because their critical thinking is still not fully formed, the Ombudsman emphasizes.
In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers are turning children against Ukraine, teaching them how to disarm weapons, shoot, wear camouflage uniforms, walk in formation and not love their Mother -country. This was announced on Monday, November 7, by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, on his page on the social network Facebook.
Also in the Russian curriculum they distort history, talk about the “importance” of this war and supposedly save children from Ukraine.

Lubinets noted that in order to have a stronger influence on children, the Russians established Yunarmiya regional branches in the occupied territories and prepared children for entry into volunteer battalions.
“Russia’s militarization of education and propaganda, aimed at Ukrainian children, is causing chaos. After all, Russia, through such actions, is “teaching” minors to hate their native state and a desire to avenge the war, but not for the Russians, but for Ukraine. Such military-patriotic movements were organized after the occupation of Crimea, now everything is repeated in the newly occupied territories, ” he said.
The Ombudsman emphasized that children are very impressionable, as their critical thinking is not yet fully developed.
“The goal of the occupiers is to deprive children of the opportunity to show their Ukrainian identity. It can also be said that such actions are a manifestation of genocide and one of the forms of coercion to further serve in the armed forces of the Russian Federation , which indicates another war crime by the Russians and a violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child”, he insisted.
It was previously reported that the occupiers of Melitopol militarized children – they raised them as loyal subjects of a terrorist state.
