Bucharest reiterated support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Romania reaffirmed its strong support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and stressed that Russia is an aggressor. Bucharest also emphasized that Western countries have no territorial claims against Ukraine. This was announced on Saturday, November 5, by the Romanian Foreign Ministry.
The publication recalled that Putin said in his speech that Ukraine’s neighbors wanted to “suck” it. In particular, it concerns Poland and Romania.
“We are talking about the return of territories taken from Poland, we must admit that they were taken by Stalin after World War II. Large territories were taken from Romania and Hungary,” Putin was quoted as saying in the publication.
In turn, the Romanian Foreign Ministry said that “Romania reaffirms its strong support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders.”
“The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejects the statements made by the President of the Russian Federation in his speech on the occasion of the Day of National Unity, which falsely inspire an opinion about Romania’s territorial claims to Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the war of occupation launched by Russia on February 24 is a serious and aggressive violation of the principles of international rights, including the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” said the Romanian Foreign Ministry.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Defense of Romania, Vasile Dyncu, resigned after he said that negotiations with Russia may be the only chance for peace in Ukraine.
