It is about mobilizing international support for Ukraine and overcoming energy challenges, as well as strengthening anti-Russian sanctions and Ukraine’s integration into the EU.
On Thursday, November 3, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba spoke by phone with his French counterpart Catherine Colonna and his Swedish colleague Tobias Billström. During the talks, additional support for Ukraine and increased sanctions against Russia were discussed, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
Kuleba noted that the conversation with the French Foreign Minister took place after a call from Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron.
“We discussed in detail joint efforts to mobilize international support for Ukraine and overcome energy challenges before winter,” Kuleba said.
The main topic of conversation with the head of the Swedish Foreign Ministry was the tightening of sanctions against the entry of Russia and Ukraine into the EU.
“An important conversation with Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström about further defense support for Sweden and increased pressure of EU sanctions on Russia,” said Kuleba.
He recalled that Sweden will chair the EU Council in 2023. In this context, diplomats also discussed Ukraine’s path to EU membership.
It can be recalled that Kuleba previously said that 12 countries will provide equipment for the energy sector. Ukraine will receive about a thousand units of energy equipment from foreign governments and companies.
