For several months, a special group has been monitoring the use of Western weapons by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
US officials have been monitoring Ukraine’s use of Western weapons for months and have yet to find signs that they are being diverted. This was announced on Thursday, November 3, by a Pentagon spokesman, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, AFP reports.
“A small team consisting of staff from the Office of the Defense Attaché at the US Embassy in Kyiv has conducted several checks on the supply of US security assistance over the past few months at various locations in Ukraine ,” he says.
Ryder noted that the checks were not conducted near the front lines and were not a reaction – “we have no evidence of a large-scale transfer of American security assistance to Ukraine.”
In addition, according to him, Ukraine monitors “security assistance from border logistics centers to the front line” and “also provides cost and damage reports to record losses.”
Earlier this week, the Pentagon reported that a small number of US military personnel had begun conducting inspections in Ukraine to ensure that the Armed Forces properly accounted for weapons provided by West.
Remember, on October 14, US President Joe Biden announced the provision of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $725 million. Soon it became known that the new package will include missiles for HIMARS systems, tens of thousands of artillery shells, as well as other weapons and equipment.
