The Polish side decided to unilaterally terminate the land lease agreement with the Russians for non-payment of rent in the amount of 12,000 zlotys per month.
The recreation center in the village of Skubyanka near Warsaw, which was used by employees of the Russian embassy, is back under the control of the State Forestry of Poland. Its territory was completely destroyed, the representative of the State Forestry Department, Michal Gzowski told Twitter on Thursday, November 3rd.
“Today, the Forest Guard penetrated the base area at Skubyanka in Zegrze, which was rented by the Russian embassy. After the outbreak of war (in Ukraine – ed.), we terminated the contract with them. The resort was completely destroyed . The Russians destroyed everything, even the cables were torn from the walls,” Gzovsky wrote.
Poland’s Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Edvard Syarka at a press conference in Skubianka recalled that the Polish side decided to unilaterally terminate the land lease agreement with the Russians due to non-payment of rent to amount of 12,000 zloty per month (about $2,500 – ed .), reports Polish Radio.
According to him, despite repeated calls, the Russian embassy did not leave the area, therefore, as he mentioned, the Polish side began the process of taking possession of the property. He added, inventory and technical assessment are now being conducted.
The territory, leased by the Russian Embassy since the 1980s, covers approximately 6 hectares, which includes two hotels, two villas and eight summer cottages.
By the time the rented property was taken under guard, all the premises were in a terrible state: the windows were broken, the floor was rotten, the roofs were crumbling, the furniture and furniture was destroyed.
According to the participant of the press conference, Acting General Director of the State Forestry Department of Poland Jozef Kubica, “all legal aspects have been resolved.” When asked about the value of the property, he said that without an expert appraisal it would be difficult to determine.
Jozef Kubica added that the forest inventory will be carried out at this site.
