Political technologists of the Russian president believe that the propaganda went beyond the subject of Nazism in Ukraine and now it is impossible to end the war without lowering Putin’s rating.
The Kremlin admitted that Russia’s propaganda was “very far from the subject of Nazism”, and now they don’t know how to end the war without dropping the rating of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported on Friday, April 22, by Meduza, citing sources in the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.
It was noted that in the internal political bloc of the Presidential Administration of Russia they came to the conclusion: today there is no “good PR scenario for the removal” of the war, which will not lead to a decrease in the rating of power.
Such “scenarios” in the domestic political bloc began to work a few weeks ago. “We looked, bent – there was no clear scenario to be seen. Therefore [общественное] opinion on a possible negotiation [и заключению мира] decided not to cook, let everything go, “explained one of the interlocutors.
Sources of the publication say the Kremlin believes most Russians take the war seriously as “fighting against the Nazis and Nazism.” In support of this, they refer to the results of closed “sociological polls”.
In particular, according to the Kremlin, one of the most serious obstacles to “society’s exit from the war” may be “the position of many members of the middle class” who allegedly support “special operations.” According to them, “representatives of the middle class” are sure: “In a war, you have to go to victory, if it has already begun – in Kyiv or even in Lvov. You can not retreat.”
The Kremlin also fears dissatisfaction with the withdrawal of troops and negotiations. According to authorities, this could even result in street protests.
Interlocutors of the publication explain this hypothesis by the fact that Russian propaganda has “missed out on forcing the subject of Nazism” in Ukraine.
At the same time, Presidential Administration officials openly support this rhetoric, as they believe it is “too late” to debate public opinion – and they must fight until some result is declared “victory.”
At the same time, two political technologists (one of whom had previously worked with the Presidential Administration, the other still works with the Kremlin) questioned the adequacy of such fears: “It is strange to rely on one kind of sociology today. Passive, perhaps not they’re against the war, but not for him either. In Moscow, in middle-class cars, the letters Z are somehow imperceptible. “
Both Medusa interlocutors were sure that if the propaganda was “mute”, no protest could be expected from supporters of the war. According to one of them, “citizens will stop thinking and talking about the Nazis, completely moving on to their personal problems.”
Recall that on April 7, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with Sky News, admitted that Russia “has huge losses of troops,” and also expressed hope that the war in Ukraine will end in the coming days or in the near future – based on the results of either the battle, or negotiations. A week later, he said that the main thing was to “liberate” Ukraine from the “nationalist battalion”, and the tasks of the “special operation” would be carried out.
