We are talking about four Hawk air defense systems, Aspide air defense systems, anti-tank missile systems, and cannons.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Spain will transfer military aid to Ukraine.
“In the near future, our state will strengthen its defense capability by receiving four Hawk air defense systems,” he said.
According to Kuleba, Spain will move the Aspide SAM battery and missiles here. Additional anti-tank missile systems, guns and shells for them will also be sent to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“This is exactly what we asked of Spain,” added the minister.
The Spada Aspide SAM is a short-range land-based air defense system used for air defense. The complex is used against aircraft, helicopters, drones and missiles fired from aviation. After launch, the Aspide rocket flies at a speed of 1324 m/s and ensures that the target is hit at a maximum range of 12 km and an altitude of 6 km.
The Hawk air defense system is the predecessor of the Patriot missile defense system. Initially, the complex was developed to destroy aircraft, later it was modified to intercept missiles in flight. The complex itself is estimated at $15 million, and the missiles for it – $250,000 per unit.
Earlier, NATO reported the provision of military assistance by Spain to Ukraine.
It will be remembered that on November 2, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez arrived in Kyiv on a visit.
