Russia will continue to look for an excuse to break the grain agreement, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar is sure.
After Russia’s withdrawal from it on October 29, the “grain agreement” actually continues to work, because the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the agreements does not mean that they are blocked. Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar said this on the air of the telethon.
“They just stopped participating in the grain agreement, this does not mean that it is blocked. Due to this situation, the UN and the Turkish side proposed to conduct an inspection independently, without involving the Ukrainian side and Russian. It was agreed, the Russian side was only informed,” said Bodnar.
According to the ambassador, Russia will continue to look for excuses to break the grain agreement, but the world is calling on Moscow to stop the blackmail.
“We see that the world community did not fall for it. All the statements from the main capitals call on Russia to give up blackmail… Now the verification is ongoing. De facto, the agreement has valid,” added the diplomat.
Bodnar noted that Ukraine entered into an agreement with the UN and Turkey, therefore, from a legal point of view, it should not interrupt its participation in the implementation of the deal.
Remember, on October 29, Russia announced its withdrawal from the grain deal, allegedly due to Ukraine’s attack on Black Sea Fleet ships with drones in Crimea. At the same time, combat drones were launched from a civilian ship used as part of a grain deal, according to Moscow’s version.
Zelensky said that Ukraine continues to fulfill its obligations and expressed the hope that international partners will be able to “calm down” the rhetoric of the Russian Federation about “exiting” from the grain initiative.
