Countries can use these resources to provide Ukrainian refugees with everything they need.
The European Commission is allocating another 100 million euros for the seven member states that receive the most refugees from Ukraine. This was reported on the EC website.
It is noted that this decision was made after the international charity campaign Stand Up For Ukraine on April 9, during which the European Commission pledged to allocate up to 400 million euros in support of refugees from Ukraine.
The first tranche of 248 million euros was allocated in May to five countries: Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The second tranche of EU funds allocated for domestic affairs is directed to support Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
It is reported that countries can use these resources to provide refugees with food, access to transportation and temporary shelter. These funds should also increase the ability of member countries to integrate Ukrainian citizens into social life, including the most vulnerable categories, including unaccompanied children.
The remaining 52 million euros from a total of 400 million charitable contributions from the European Commission will soon be allocated to the development of projects to support Ukrainian refugees, including, among other things, providing them with temporary housing , quality psychological help.
Remember, the European Commission has extended the temporary protection mechanism for Ukrainians fleeing the war for another year – until March 2024
It was also reported that the EU next year will allocate 18 billion euros to Ukraine.
