The Russian Federation is reinforcing Kherson with recruits who have recently mobilized. Budanov believed they were used as cannon fodder.
The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR), Kirill Budanov, said that the Russian Federation is bringing recently mobilized Russians to temporarily occupied Kherson. The invaders are preparing for a street fight. He said this in a comment on CNN.
“Russia is reinforcing Kherson with recently mobilized recruits. They are probably being used as cannon fodder,” Budanov said.
At the same time, Russia is removing its puppets from the city and surrounding areas.
“Moscow knows the complexity of their situation and does not want to be completely trapped,” said the head of the GUR.
According to him, the withdrawal of Russian troops will be accelerated when Ukraine “takes artillery control of the Novaya Kakhovka dam.”
“Therefore, all our combat units are moving towards Kherson and towards Novaya Kakhovka,” Budanov said.
Earlier, the head of the GUR said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could remove Kherson by the end of 2022.
Budanov believes that the war in the Russian Federation should end in the summer of next year, and after that Russia will face significant changes.
