The Ministry of Education (Minedu) issued a decision in the case of alleged bullying at school Sako Oliveros, after a student fell from the fourth floor. The organization clarified that they initiated an investigation to “determine administrative responsibility” in these events.
“Specialized brigades DRELM [Dirección Regional de Lima Metropolitana] and COAL No.. 06, investigative actions have been launched in order to clarify the circumstances and determine the administrative responsibility that may arise,” the fourth paragraph of the statement reads.
They added that the multidisciplinary team from DRELM and UGEL No. 06 is in constant coordination with EsSalud to monitor the health development of a girl who fell from the fourth floor after being the victim of alleged acts of bullying.
“A team of psychologists is working on social-emotional containment of students, teachers and administrative staff of the educational institution, paying special attention to students in the class of the injured teenager,” they say.
In addition, the ministry reported that “specialized personnel in the field of psychology and social care from Regional Directorate of Education of the Metropolitan of Lima (DRELM) accompanies and provides social and emotional support to the student’s parents” and asked to avoid speculation about the student and her relatives.
As a reminder, Indecopi, through its Office of Surveillance, announced this Wednesday the immediate start of supervision of the educational institution Saco Oliveros de Salamanca.
The organization explained that as part of the proceedings, the events that occurred, as well as the actions taken by the educational institution for the immediate consideration of the case of a minor who continues to be in the hospital, will be investigated.
The juvenile is still in the hospital.
A 12-year-old girl was seriously injured when she fell from the fourth floor of the Saco Oliveros school in Salamanca, Ata district. The minor was admitted to the Guillermo Almenara hospital on an emergency basis with a reserved prognosis.
In dialogue with RPP NewsJaime Carbajal, the father of the minor, said the accident happened at around 11 a.m. yesterday, under circumstances that have not yet been clarified.
“Yesterday morning, at about 11 am, my daughter fell from the fourth floor. I don’t know how long it will be, but no one noticed until a neighbor knocked on their door to tell them that my daughter had fallen,” he said.
Jaime Carbajal also stated that his daughter was a victim of bullying and that the minor told them that she was “sick” of what happened at her school.
“Every time he came home from school, he came in a bad mood; and I said to him, “What’s the matter with you?” And she told me: “I’m tired, I want to sleep”; and the next day I didn’t want to go to school,” said the father.
The juvenile has serious injuries.
Almenara charity network manager, Jorge Amorosreported that the minor remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the aforementioned hospital due to significant body fractures.
“(A minor) has a polytrauma, several fractures at the level of the spine, a fracture of the pelvis, a fracture of the femur, she has a contusion of the lung. Closed abdominal trauma, acute anemia, which has already been compensated, are excluded,” he told the press.
