This should happen based on the boundaries of 1991. Before that, the delimitation work should be completed.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his intention to conclude a peace agreement with Azerbaijan by the end of the year. He said this from the rostrum of the parliament, reports Wednesday, October 26, Novosti-Armenia.
“I want the agreement to be concluded by the end of this year. How realistic is it? I will answer this way: we and the government will make all possible efforts to make it real,” Pashinyan said.
At the same time, he expressed the hope that the delimitation work will be completed before the signing of the peace agreement.
“How realistic is this? Considering that we reached an agreement in Prague that this will happen based on the borders of 1991, it can be realistic, because these borders are, in fact, known,” he said.
According to the prime minister, a transparent dialogue should also start for the international community between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
As reported, after a meeting in Prague in early October, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev admitted that, under certain conditions, a peace agreement with Armenia could be signed before the end of 2022.
It will be recalled that on September 20, the United States called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to resume negotiations to reduce tensions after the latest escalation, which killed dozens of people. The parties to the conflict have expressed their readiness to resolve this issue. Before that, Yerevan and Baku agreed to a truce.
