In eight months of war, Ukrainians defended their state’s independence – and Russia cannot change that, the president said.
Russia will never again be a subject and will never be able to dictate its terms to anyone. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a video message on Monday evening, October 24.
“Today is exactly eight months of a full-scale war. What has been achieved during this time? We defended the independence of our state – and Russia will not change it,” said the head of state.
According to Zelensky, “step by step, we are liberating the Ukrainian land. Donbass, Kharkiv, Kherson are now sounding. But Zaporozhye region and Crimea will be sounding: the time will come – and all Ukraine will be free.”
“Ukraine is destroying the so-called second army of the world. And now Russia will be just a beggar. It is begging for something to Iran, trying to squeeze something from Western countries, inventing different things about Ukraine, threatening and deceiving. . Russia will not be a subject again and he will not be able to dictate something to anyone, he no longer has the potential to dictate, the world sees this,” Zelensky said.
He noted that now Russia’s full potential is being spent on a war against Ukraine and the entire free world.
“There was gas influence – no, there was military influence – it evaporated, there was political weight – now isolation, which continues to rise, there are ideological ambitions – now there is only disgust. And this is a very important configuration change in our part of the continent. The more Russia loses its potential now, the more real freedom will be given to all people both near Russia and inside it. Ukraine will be first,” the president said.
Earlier, Zelensky announced new sanctions against Russia. They will affect all Russian propagandists, so-called opinion leaders and representatives of show business.
