The Ukrainian military will receive 11 complexes of powerful PUMA-LE drones at their disposal. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov on Telegram on Monday, October 24.
“We are buying 11 powerful PUMA-LE drone systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Their cost is more than UAH 540 million. The drones are equipped with conventional and thermal imaging cameras with 6x zoom. This allows you to see the enemy day, night and at any time,” wrote Fedorov.
He noted that thanks to the antennas, the drones cover a distance of up to 60 kilometers, which will allow them to be directed behind enemy lines. The drones can fly for about six hours and rise to a height of up to three kilometers.
“PUMA-LE is in service in 18 countries of the world: the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, etc. Now we fill our front with “birds,” Fedorov added.
As you know, since July 1, the Army of Drones project has been implemented in Ukraine. It is a comprehensive program, within the framework of which a systematic purchase of drones, their repair, as well as training courses for relevant specialists are planned.
