On the eve, one and a half million Ukrainians found themselves without electricity, and the possibility of electricity supply was restored almost everywhere.
In all regions of Ukraine that were the target of the Russian missile attack yesterday, the technical possibility of providing electricity has been restored. This was announced on Sunday, October 23, by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Of course, in many cities and regions, our energy companies have to apply stabilization closing schedules. This is done so that all our people have access to energy – in the conditions where its production is impossible in sufficient quantities. Restoring energy facilities destroyed by terrorist strikes is a longer and more complicated matter. But over time, we will also provide it… This time must pass,” he said in a video message.
The President urged to continue consuming electricity sparingly.
“I want to speak separately to the leaders of the communities and the mayors of our cities: please make sure that the energy is not wasted. Now is definitely not the time for bright storefronts and signs. We need a very -careful attitude to energy consumption in public space,” Zelensky addressed the local authorities.
In addition, he said that restoration continues in the occupied territory.
“Every day I receive new reports on connecting hundreds of households in liberated areas to gas, water, electricity. In particular, only today and only in two districts of the Kharkiv region, 346 subscribers the one with gas again. The city of Volchansk has another 750 subscribers with electricity. The city of Izyum has another 300 subscribers with electricity. This is a continuous work that does not stop for a day and continues throughout the liberated territory of Ukraine,” the President said.
Recall that after yesterday’s strikes by the occupiers, approximately 1.5 million Ukrainians found themselves without electricity.
Note that today from 12:00, Ukrenergo introduced restrictions for consumers in Kyiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions.
