On the morning of October 22, the enemy attacked Ukraine with at least ten Tu-160 and Tu-95 strategic aircraft from the Volgodonsk region of the Rostov region. 17 X-101 (X-555) cruise missiles were launched. In addition, the invaders attacked from ships from the Black Sea using Caliber cruise missiles. In total – 16 launches, according to the Telegram channel Operative APU.
Air defense 18 of them were successfully shot down.
In the areas of responsibility of the Air Command South, Air Command Center, Air Command West of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups destroyed eighteen enemy cruise missiles:
