The President signed a decree creating a body whose main task was to develop an action plan for the reconstruction and development of Ukraine after the war.
President Volodymyr Zelensky created the National Council for Ukraine’s Recovery from the consequences of the war. The corresponding decree No. 266/2022 was signed on Thursday, April 21st.
“Establish a National Council for the Restoration of Ukraine from the Consequences of the War,” the document said.
The document states that the Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to determine within two weeks the body that will conduct information and analytical support for the work of the Council.
According to the approved personal composition of the Council, the Prime Minister and the head of the Office of the President became its co-chairs. In addition to them, the Council includes vice prime ministers and ministers, deputy heads of the OP, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine and the chairpersons of committees of the Verkhovna Rada.
The regulation states that the Council is a consultative and advisory body under the President, its main tasks are to develop an action plan for the post-war reconstruction and development of Ukraine; identification and development of proposals for reform priorities, as well as the preparation of strategic initiatives, draft of legal acts, its adoption and implementation are necessary for the effective work and reconstruction of the country in time of the war and after the war.
It was previously reported that the EU will pay most of the costs for the restoration of Ukraine. According to Brussels, the amount will be hundreds of billions of dollars.
Recall, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said that Ukraine’s losses from the war with Russia, taking into account the losses in subsequent years, amount to more than a trillion dollars.
