The Russian invaders deliberately attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, thereby terrorizing the civilian population.
Russia tries to “freeze” people, but in return it will be considered the most “frostbitten international criminal”. This was announced on Thursday, October 20, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an evening video message.
“Russian troops continue to strike with missiles and drones at our power plants. In the end, even such a Russian scoundrel failed. We are doing everything to get a more modern and effective air defense and missile defense systems for Ukraine. And there will be a day when we will report that Ukrainian skies have become fully protected from Russian missiles, Iranian drones and any other carriers of evil,” he said .
The President pointed out that Russia’s goal is to blackmail Europe with gas and oil. He noted that Russia could organize sabotage of underwater gas pipelines and critical cables in Europe, tried to “freeze” people.
“What happened? Russia just lost weight in the European energy market, which has been developed since the time of Brezhnev, and will certainly receive treatment as the most” frostbitten international criminal. It will remain in Moscow for a very long time even after this Russian leader,” said the head of state.
He added that Russia is trying to destroy Ukraine’s energy system, so that Ukrainians will suffer even more, but this only mobilizes the international community to further help Ukraine and put more pressure on the terrorist state.
“And all our costs for the protection of our energy facilities and for the restoration of our infrastructure after a Russian terrorist attack will be reimbursed from Russian assets. Each of the terrorists is personally responsible for what he does. In front of the court. And the terrorist will pay for it by the state. Separation, destruction and properties – both public and quasi-private entities associated with this Russian regime,” said Zelensky.
Earlier, Ukrenergo warned Ukrainians that the lights in homes and businesses may continue to go out.
