Official Iran continues to deny accusations of arms supplies to the Russian Federation.
Russia uses Iranian drones to strike Ukraine, and in the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea there are specialists from Iran who help the Russian military. This was announced on Thursday, October 20, by the representative of the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, according to Twitter journalist Caitlin Doornbos.
In particular, Kirby said that Russia is using Iranian drones throughout Ukraine. And Iranian instructors provide technical support for launching kamikaze drones.
“According to our assessment, Iranian military personnel are in Crimea and have assisted Russia in these operations. Tehran is now directly involved “on the ground”, as well as providing weapons that affect the civilian population and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine,” Kirby said.
As you know, Iranian authorities refuse the transfer of weapons to Russia, including kamikaze drones, which have recently been widely used in attacks on Ukraine.
Earlier, several media outlets reported that Iran had promised to provide Russia with surface-to-surface missiles in addition to more drones.
