The head of Lockheed Martin Tyclet announced an increase in the production of MLRS HIMARS to 96 vehicles per year.

The American company Lockheed Martin plans to increase the production of the multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) HIMARS supplied to Ukraine up to 96 complexes per year. This was announced by the head of the defense company Jim Tyclet at a meeting with investors on Tuesday, October 18, writes POLITICO.

“Regarding HIMARS, we have already met with our long-term suppliers to plan to increase production to 96 units per year,” he said, reporting the company’s third-quarter profit and loss.

Today the MLRS production volume is about 60 launchers per year.

Lockheed Martin is also considering expanding its facility in Camden, Arkansas as demand continues to rise, he added.

“The 20 HIMARS sent to Ukraine by the US since the summer have had a significant impact on the battlefield, allowing Ukrainian forces to move dozens of miles behind the front lines at the time and position themselves around Kherson,” Politico wrote.

It can be remembered that US President Joe Biden announced the provision of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 725 million dollars.

We add that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the NASAMS air defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive in October.
