They will help unload the Porubne-Siret checkpoint, which gathers up to a thousand trucks a day.
By the end of 2022, it is planned to open three state border checkpoints in western Ukraine: one Nizhankovichi-Malkhovichi on the Polish border, and two Krasnoilsk-Vikovu de Sus and Dyakovtsy-Rakovets – on the Romanian border. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayem told Ukrinform about this.
According to him, the Uzhgorod-Vyshne Nemetskoye checkpoint on the border with Slovakia will be opened in the first quarter of 2023.
“The Krasnoilsk-Vikovu de Sus checkpoint will be launched sequentially, starting this month. First, the passage will be allowed for vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons, then for empty trucks and then will operate at full capacity We also plan to open by the end of the year for transportation Dyakovtsy – Rakovets and Nizhankovichi – Malkhovichi. The Nizhankovichi checkpoint will initially work only for the passage of empty vehicles. It is being built from scratch. It is temporary and it is necessary to speed up the flow of traffic along the entire western border. I also hope that in the first quarter of next the Uzhgorod-Vyshnee Nemetskoye checkpoint will be implemented,” said Nayem.
Work is also being carried out to restore the tracks in the direction of Delovo-Valea-Viseului and Teresva-Kimpulung la Tisa.
During independence, only one new checkpoint was opened – Krakovets-Korcheva on the Polish border.
Recall that in October, an electronic queue should start working at Ukrainian border checkpoints, in the first stage – as a pilot project at one of the checkpoints.
