About 40% of the population left Nikolaev. This was stated by the mayor of the city Alexander Senkevich in a commentary on the TV channel Belsat.

According to him, the exact statistics on those who left the city are not kept.

“Before the war, there were about 500 thousand inhabitants in Nikolaev, our city was half a million. We do not have exact data on the number of people who left, we do not register such data, but in terms of the amount of garbage collected and the using drinking water, 40% of the inhabitants have already left the city, ”he said.
