The self-proclaimed leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed an order to inspect his army.
The formal President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered from Tuesday, October 11, to conduct an inspection of the Armed Forces of the Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense.
During the inspection, military units will practice putting on alert, marching and “deploying to designated areas with the performance of combat training tasks.”
The check is necessary to determine readiness to perform tasks, the Belarusian department assured.
It should be noted that an additional convoy of military equipment “for exercises” will arrive in Belarusian Yelsk, located 17 km from the Ukrainian border. This was reported by the Telegram channel Belaruska Gayun, which monitors military activity on the territory of Belarus.
“According to our information, exercises near the buildings of the local traffic police and the district executive committee will be held in Yelsk (Gomel region, Belarus) in the coming days,” the message said.
Classes were canceled at the music school, located across the street from these buildings. In the courtyard of the traffic police building, a cluster of policemen with machine guns was noticed.
The message also said that on October 12, an additional convoy of military equipment should arrive in the city. All organizations have been instructed to prohibit their employees from holding phones while moving equipment, and they have also been advised to avoid major roads and vehicular traffic.
It should be noted that the ISW believes that Russia and Belarus, which announced the joint deployment of troops – formations intended to protect the Union State, are unlikely to dare to attack Ukraine from in the north with them.
