Moscow crossed a new red line in criminal activities and violated the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
In the course of a massive rocket attack on Ukraine on October 10, Russian troops hit, in particular, objects of diplomatic institutions of foreign states in Kyiv. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It was noted that one of the rockets damaged the visa department of the German Embassy in Ukraine, located in one of the Kyiv office centers, and the second – the building where the staff of the EU Advisory Mission works.
“Russia has crossed a new red line in its criminal acts. Attacks on foreign diplomatic institutions are a war crime, a grave violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, according to which the places of diplomatic institutions are not violated,” Oleg Nikolenko, spokesman for the department, emphasized.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the world community to condemn the Russian missile attack and increase the pressure of sanctions on the Kremlin, as well as to immediately provide Ukraine with a modern air defense and missile defense system.
