At least 36 people, including 24 children, have died in an attack by a gunman on a kindergarten (or children’s center, as the media also call it) in northeastern Thailand. This was reported by Reuters.
The attack took place in Nongbualamphu province. The Central Investigation Bureau of Thailand reported that the man committed suicide and also shot his wife and son.
According to law enforcement, the attacker, 34-year-old Panya Kamrab, was fired from the police force last year for drug use.
Eyewitnesses and representatives of local authorities reported that there were about 30 children in the kindergarten building. A gunman entered the premises after lunch, killing several employees, including the teacher, who was eight months pregnant.
The youngest of the dead children was reported to be two years old.
It was earlier reported that at least 32 people, including children, were killed in the attack.
