The Kremlin regime sent a train of specialized military equipment to the Ukrainian border.
The head of the ruling regime of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, sent a train of special military equipment to the borders of Ukraine. According to preliminary information, the equipment belongs to the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, which is responsible for the control and operation of the Russian nuclear arsenal. Therefore, there is a risk that Russia may organize a demonstrative detonation of nuclear weapons on the borders of Ukraine or in the Black Sea. It was reported by the British edition of The Times.
It should be noted that information about the train’s movement appeared on October 2 on the pro-government Russian Telegram channel Rybar.
Military expert Konrad Muzyka noted that the military equipment being transported belonged to the 12th department of the Russian Defense Ministry.
He believes that this is Putin’s demonstrative step, showing the West his determination, in the context of recent statements about protecting the territories of the Russian Federation in any way possible.
In his opinion, “this may be a signal to the West that Moscow is rising.”
However, Muzyka said that the movement of heavy military equipment belonging to nuclear units does not mean that Russia is preparing to deploy nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as a rule, conducts large-scale training of strategic troops in the fall, the expert recalled. Therefore, it is likely that the train was heading to the location of the Grom nuclear deterrence exercise, which was last held in October 2019.
Such maneuvers could signal Putin’s increasingly desperate desire to escalate the war after a series of humiliating field defeats in the Kharkov and Kherson sectors of the front, observers said.
At the same time, the movement of special equipment may be a kind of response to the announced US delivery of HIMARS installations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Remember, according to Jens Stoltenberg, NATO warned the Russian Federation about the consequences of a nuclear strike.
Note that the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, did not want to answer the question of whether the Kremlin is considering the possibility of using nuclear weapons in the event of a counter-offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
